They will generally hold the middle ground, trading shots with the opposing fleet. They reload moderately quick, allowing most ships to almost constantly rain shells. These have mid range speed and maneuverability while carrying moderate guns (and lots of them!). Their deck guns are small caliber but reload super quick and you can basically keep up a constant barrage of small arms fire.Ĭruisers - The Multitasker of the seas. The entire time, they jink and swerve to avoid incoming fire from enemy ships. They quickly surge forward, spot targets, pop smoke to camouflage their allied ships, and lay down a deadly pattern of torpedoes. Their weapon of choice is the deadly torpedoes, which can sink a battleship with a well aimed and timed salvo. They are super maneuverable and can chug well ahead of an advancing fleet. Once in awhile they do a fantastical ship, like recently there were Warhammer 40k inspired Battleships & Captains.ĭestroyers - These small and speedy vessels are the glass cannons of the game. These ships are available across 7 nations, all are unlockable, and are based on actual ships throughout history. The game has 4 basic ships, which can all be upgraded and modified. Higher tier games with high level ships are completely different games that when you start out. You will be quickly humbled when playing against other players. The AI is surprisingly good, but nothing compares to the ruthlessness and cunning of real players. Games vs AI usually last around 15 minutes and games vs players going considerably longer. Once you have engaged the enemy, it is usually balls to the walls action and excitement until the game is won. The opening few minutes of the game is positioning and scouting. That is not to say that the game is plodding or boring. The game is slower paced and much, much more methodical. Unlike FPS shooters such as CoD/Battlefield/InsertGameHere, it has considerably more strategy involved from beginning to end. The game is Free to Play on PC, Xbox, and the Playstation.
